Good Friday, everyone! Can you believe it’s April already? Can you believe we’re almost halfway through the first NaNoWriMo of the year already?! I swear, the older I get, the faster time runs by. Anyway, let me introduce you to Jannie Mitzeiko Harvey, who is so generous to share with us something no writer can do without…
Flexible like a bamboo, adaptable like water, and always in pursuit of quality work and innate personal happiness—these are among a few things that describe Jannie. With the mantra of ‘Time can never be turned back’, combined with her passion for reading and writing, she supports overwhelmed authors with their administrative and marketing tasks so they can focus on what authors love to do: write!
During her spare time, she plans on her next travel, fangirls over her favourite Japanese idol group, Arashi, and saves money for her cat sanctuary. Check out her website here, or follow her on Facebook.
Project Development Planner for Writers
Hi Jannie! What is it that you’ve got in store for us?
Hi! I’ve recently created the Project Development Planner for Writers. It’s a planner specifically designed for the writer. I offer it for free, which is my way of giving back to the community.
And the community loves all things free! How is the Project Development Planner for Writers different from any regular planner?
There are a million planners out there. What makes this planner unique is that it focuses on the writer’s needs: their word count and their book campaign.
There are 2 sections to the planner. The first one is called Project Goals, where the writer logs the title of their book, the characters, and story development. The second part is the Writing and Marketing Calendar. The calendar is where you can put in your daily word count and marketing plans. They are not dated so you can start your project whether it’s January 1st or July 4th. Of course, you can use it to schedule your normal day to day too!
Why did you create the Project Development Planner for Writers?
Writing is one big project. The planner helps give you clarity of direction, accountability to your actions, and still have time for life! I want writers to be aware so they can replicate their success and good habits to multiply their wins towards their next best seller!
Who will benefit from the Project Development Planner for Writers?
Any writer or author—whether they are published or not, starting out or not, they can all benefit from the planner. It’s there to keep them sane and find freedom to do all the things they love, including writing, publishing, and marketing their book!
That sounds great, Jannie. Thank you so much for sharing! Last but not least, what’s the best writing advice you were ever given?
To start. Oftentimes, writers will keep getting stuck in their head. Plan and plan and plan and never execute. If you don’t take action, if you don’t put your words to paper, then no one will ever hear your story or your voice. It doesn’t have to be perfect but at least you need to start. And my planner can help you there!
Could you use a little help planning your writing career? (Yes, that’s a rhetorical one 😉 )
